Midtown Killing Suspect Thought to Have Fled to Mexico

Investigators are looking for Mohammad Joseph Khan, 34, who is believed to be armed and dangerous. Police also think Kahn has fled to Mexico.

Police responded to the 1600 block of 17th Street in Sacramento at approximately 10:00 am on Saturday, June 28. Snyder’s body had been discovered by a friend who went to check on her after calls and texts to her phone went unanswered.

Homicide detectives were summoned because Snyder’s body showed obvious signs of trauma. Kahn and Snyder reportedly had a romantic relationship with each other, and the slaying was not a random act, detectives said. Police also say other people are believed to have been involved.

Snyder—who also used her maiden name Kelsey Kaiser—grew up in Stockton and had lived in Sacramento for about two years.

Anyone with information about where Khan may be is urged to contact Sacramento Police Department’s Dispatch Center at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357. Callers may remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

UPDATE: It was reported that Mohammad Kahn was arrested at the US/Mexico border on Monday, July 7 by the US Border Patrol.
