Sacramento PD arrests two in connection to shooting on Yreka Avenue

SACRAMENTO — Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a shooting on Yreka Avenue last weekend.

Just after 10 PM on Sunday, August 25, police responded to the 2800 block of Yreka Avenue and discovered that three people had been shot, two of whom were unintended targets. Fortunately, none of their injuries were life-threatening.

An extensive follow-up investigation soon led to the arrests of Seannay Eckley and Andrew Ruiz, both 21, on Tuesday, August 27.

Eckley is charged with attempted murder, felony resisting, and conspiracy. Ruiz is charged with attempted murder and conspiracy.

Though the investigation is ongoing, investigators believe this was an isolated event.
