Suspect Arrested in Connection to Shooting in Front of High School

FRESNO – A 26-year-old was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly being responsible for shooting another man in front of a high school in January of this year.

The Fresno Police Department arrested Timothy Rooters on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.

The incident happened on January 3. A shooting victim went to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment for a gunshot wound to his arm. The hospital notified police about the gunshot victim.

When officers interviewed the man, he said that he was driving by Edison High School when he saw Rooters. The two had a previous dispute over a woman, police said.

The victim said that he got out of his car and approached Rooters, who pulled out a gun and shot the man, according to police.

Thanks to a tip that Rooters was hiding near Kings Canyon Road and Winery Avenue, officers were able to locate him this week and arrest him.
