“On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at 5:30 PM, Corcoran Police Officers were dispatched to 2400 Whitley Avenue regarding an armed robbery that occurred in the apartment complex parking lot. The victim reported he was parked in the apartment complex parking lot waiting to meet a guy by the name of Jessy. When Jessy walked up to the victim, Jessy pointed a gun at him and demanded his money. The victim handed Jessy his money and Jessy walked away. The victim drove away from the parking lot to a safe location and reported the incident to Corcoran Police Department.

Through further investigation, Corcoran Officers were able to identify the suspect as Jessy Cervantes. The investigation also revealed Cervantes was currently out on bail from a previous attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon case. A search warrant and arrest warrant were issued for Cervantes and his residence. Due to Cervantes’ violent Criminal History, the Central Valley Regional SWAT team was utilized to serve the search warrant at Cervantes residence. Cervantes was taken into custody by the SWAT Team without incident and turned over to Corcoran Police Investigators.

During the subsequent search of Cervantes’ residence investigators located a 9MM semi-automatic handgun and 2 loaded magazines, one of which was a 33 round magazine. Cervantes was arrested by the Corcoran Police Department and subsequently booked into Kings County Jail for being in violation of 211 PC-Robbery, 417(a)(2)PC- Brandishing a firearm, 12022.1 PC- Commit Felony while on bail or own recognizance.
