MILPITAS – Despite only being a few months older and 18, a young man was found driving two friends along McCarthy Boulevard, sharing marijuana with the two 17-year-old teens. San Jose resident Jorge Antonio Vasquez was identified as the driver weaving in traffic when he caught the attention of a Milpitas Patrol Officer.
During the initial stop of the driver, the officer noticed traces of marijuana on Vasquez’ clothing and could inevitably smell a marijuana odor coming from within the vehicle.
According to police, an initial search of the vehicle yielded a loaded firearm that had been hidden under the front passenger’s seat. Along with the loaded firearm, three ski masks with a pair of gloves were also located in the vehicle, giving pause to the account of the driver’s whereabouts.
Vasquez was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for possession of a concealed firearm and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The two juveniles were cited and released to their parents for possession of a concealed firearm.
