Sheriffs Hunt for Fugitive

The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office is asking for the help of the public to locate a wanted fugitive.

Marc Steele, 37, is currently wanted for felony and misdemeanor warrants stemming from possession of firearms and resisting arrest. Steele is described as a white male, 5’9”, approximately 150 pounds with short brown hair and green eyes. Detectives say Steele is considered armed and dangerous.

According to the sheriff’s department, deputies and members of the sheriff’s narcotic unit attempted to contact and arrest Steele on December 14th in the 9900 block of West Front Street in Atascadero, but Steele fled the area in a vehicle after ramming a sheriff’s K-9 unit. Detectives say Steele was last seen driving a silver 1993 Lexus four-door sedan with a CA license plate number 3CDL038.

Investigators say Steele is known to frequent North San Luis Obispo County and the coast area.

Steele currently has two outstanding arrest warrants; one no-bail felony warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and one $2,000 misdemeanor warrant for resisting arrest.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding Steele’s whereabouts to contact the sheriff’s office at (805) 781-4550 or to call Crime Stoppers at (805) 549-STOP.

Additionally, Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this individual.
