Probation Search Ends in Drug Bust

BAKERSFIELD –Members of the Kern County California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team and the Kern County Major Violator Unit seized one-quarter pound of meth during a probation search at a Bakersfield hotel.

The raid took place on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, when investigators conducted a probation search at a hotel located in the 2300 block of Wible Road.

Officers arrested two Bakersfield residents who were detained inside the hotel room during the search, which also turned up evidence of drug sales.

The suspects were identified as 30-year-old Annabelle Miller, who was the subject of the probation search, and 41-year-old Benjamin Mendoza.

Both were said by police to have been booked into the Kern County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales, and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia.

Police said the suspected methamphetamine officers discovered has a potential street value of about $14,260.00.

As of Thursday, Miller remains behind bars with no bail set, while Mendoza was not listed on the sheriff’s office inmate website.
