“These investigations are part of our ongoing efforts to proactively disrupt and impact the cycle of gang and gun violence affecting our community.

On February 4, 2021, at about 9:00 PM, officers conducted a vehicle code enforcement stop in the 600 block of Boomerang Drive. Upon contact with the driver, Daniel Garcia (18) of Bakersfield, officers observed a firearm and ammunition in the vehicle. Officers retrieved the firearm and located an additional firearm in the vehicle. Garcia was placed under arrest for gang participation, gang member in possession of a loaded firearm and carrying a concealed firearm.

On February 4, 2021, at about 8:00 PM, officers executed a search warrant in the 1200 block of Robinson Street. The location had been identified as an illegal marijuana dispensary operating in a residential neighborhood. Kendell McDaniel (29) of Bakersfield, was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm after a loaded firearm was located and charges associated with the illegal marijuana dispensary.

On February 4, 2021, at about 12:31 AM, one of our officers conducted a vehicle code enforcement stop in the 4200 block of Chester Avenue. The driver, Liandro Romero-Cuevas (33) of Bakersfield, was found to be unlicensed. During an impound search of the vehicle, a loaded firearm was located. Romero-Cuevas, a prior convicted felon, was placed under arrest for felon in possession of a firearm and gang participation.”
