A Shasta County couple has been arrested for allegedly trying to steal antique firearms stolen from a historic site, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

On the evening of Wednesday, February 2, deputies were alerted to a burglary at the Igo Inn on South Fork Road in Redding, a historic property which the owner maintains for special events. The owner reported that six antique rifles had been stolen, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Two days later, on February 4, employees at Old West Gun and Loan called the Sheriff’s Office to report that someone had been trying to sell some of the firearms stolen from Igo Inn at their Market Street location. Deputies and Redding PD officers responded to the location and intercepted three individuals — 29-year-old Jordan Ericsson, 31-year-old Tamia Wilcox, and a 27-year-old man whom officers ultimately determined was not involved in the situation and thus allowed to leave.

Employees positively identified Ericsson as the one who’d been trying to sell the guns. Ericsson later allowed deputies to enter his residence and retrieve the remaining firearms, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Both Ericsson and Wilcox were arrested and booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property.
