Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes Into Cop Car on Halloween
AUBURN, CA — “On Halloween, with children out trick-or-treating, a suspected DUI driver crashed into one of our occupied patrol vehicles.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Generally, we prefer to initiate our own traffic stops, not have them initiated by someone crashing into us. That said, with so many kids and families out tonight, we’d much rather it be us than one of you.
A special thanks to the alert citizen who recognized the driver’s obvious signs of intoxication and contacted our dispatch center. With so many children and families out tonight, we appreciate the extra eyes looking out for our community.
We’d also like to thank the CHP – Auburn for responding and taking over the investigation.”
