“On the afternoon of May 31st, Placer County Sheriff’s deputies received information about the location of a wanted suspect.

Deputies arrived at the Auburn Thrifty Wash on Lincoln Way, where they located the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Robin Tipton, sitting in a vehicle.

The suspect initially responded to deputies’ orders to come out, but then attempted to evade deputies by running into the business.

Deputies eventually got the suspect to comply and detained him; as he was being detained, the suspect was able to put a plastic bag containing suspected narcotics in his mouth and swallow it.

He was taken to a nearby hospital before he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon (not a firearm), making terrorizing threats, obstructing a peace officer, contempt, and his outstanding warrant.

Our deputies did an outstanding job arresting Tipton and holding him accountable for his actions.”
