Fairfield Police Arrest Juvenile Suspect, 17, in Connection with Deadly Oct. 30 Shooting at Spirit Halloween Store
FAIRFIELD, CA — “Today, the Fairfield Police Department arrested the suspect responsible for the deadly October 30th shooting in Fairfield.
The 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody earlier today by Fairfield Police officers. Because the suspect is a juvenile, we will not be releasing his name.
On Friday, October 30, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the suspect entered the Spirit Halloween store inside the Solano Town Center in Fairfield. Once inside, the suspect observed another customer, who investigators believe was his intended target. The suspect then produced a firearm and fired multiple rounds at the victim. The gunfire struck the intended victim as well as six other individuals inside the store.
The suspect fled the scene within minutes, just as Fairfield Police officers arrived. Officers, firefighters, and paramedics immediately began assessing the situation, identifying victims, and providing emergency medical care. Tragically, Constance Hages died at the scene from her injuries. She was pregnant at the time of the shooting.
The suspect was identified within hours of the initial 911 call through the investigative efforts of a Fairfield Police School Resource Officer. After reviewing surveillance footage from the store, the officer recognized the suspect as a former student and immediately provided that information to detectives. Detectives continued the investigation, ultimately locating the suspect at a residence in Suisun City, where he was arrested today.
The suspect is facing charges of murder and attempted murder in connection with the shooting. The suspect was also previously arrested in connection with a separate shooting that occurred in the parking lot of a local high school after school hours in 2025, for which he received sentencing and has since been released.
The Fairfield Police Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the allied agencies that assisted with the initial response and subsequent investigation. The collaboration and support of our law enforcement partners are critical when responding to and investigating incidents of this magnitude. We are grateful for the tremendous efforts of everyone involved in bringing this investigation to this point.
Although an arrest has been made, our work is not over. The criminal justice process will now move forward, and we remain committed to ensuring accountability for the lives impacted by this senseless act of violence.”
