California DOJ & Vallejo Police Investigate and Dismantle Illegal Gambling Operation
VALLEJO, CA — “On October 21, 2026, at approximately 7:00 a.m., the Vallejo Police Department’s Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Team assisted the California Department of Justice (DOJ) in executing a search warrant at a suspected illegal gambling establishment, commonly referred to as a ‘Bi-Zone,’ located in the 2400 block of Sonoma Boulevard.
The operation followed an investigation that began in July 2026, when VPD identified suspected illegal gambling activity in Vallejo and provided that information to DOJ. After reviewing the information, DOJ’s Bureau of Gambling Control assumed responsibility for the investigation and prepared a search warrant in coordination with VPD.
VPD’s POP Team executed the search warrant and detained eight individuals inside the establishment while DOJ investigators conducted their search.
During the operation, DOJ investigators seized three illegal multiplayer gambling machines. VPD POP Team officers also conducted records checks on the individuals detained and discovered that three had outstanding arrest warrants.
One individual had two Solano County warrants for failure to appear, each with a $3,000 bail. A second individual had a Solano County failure to appear warrant with bail set at $25,000. The third individual had a Sonoma County warrant for contempt of court with bail set at $100,000.
All three individuals were arrested by VPD officers and booked into the Solano County Jail on their outstanding warrants.
Vallejo Police Chief Jason Ta stated, ‘Illegal gambling establishments operating in Vallejo are a public safety concern that the Vallejo Police Department takes seriously. Our officers identified suspected illegal gambling activity and brought that information to the California Department of Justice for further investigation. I want to thank Attorney General Rob Bonta and the DOJ Bureau of Gambling Control for their leadership and partnership in bringing this operation to a successful conclusion. We will continue identifying and addressing illegal operations that affect the safety and well-being of our community.’
The Vallejo Police Department will continue coordinating with its law enforcement partners to investigate suspected illegal gambling operations and address criminal activity affecting Vallejo’s neighborhoods and businesses.”
