A months-long dispute between two Camarillo neighbors escalated into an armed
confrontation.
On the afternoon of October 26 hen a 48-year-old Camarillo man
returned home from work as his neighbor, Robert Hart, 70, entered his garage.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Hart produced a handgun and pressed it against the victim’s head.
As the victim attempted to call 911, Hart allegedly knocked the phone from his hand
before the call could be completed. Fearing for his safety, the man drove out of the
garage and went directly to the Camarillo Police Station to report the event.
According to the investigation, Hart and the victim had been involved in an
ongoing dispute for several months at the time of the October 26 confrontation.

investigation and later obtained a search warrant for Hart and his residence which led to
the discovery of two firearms, an airsoft gun and ammunition of various calibers.
Hart was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was
booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a firearm and burglary.
