SAUSALITO — Marin County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man for
allegedly stealing electric bicycles and for outstanding warrants. Nikolay P. Nazarchuk, 37, was taken into custody on September 29 at his residence in Sacramento County.
A few days earlier, two victims in unincorporated areas of Sausalito reported e-
bikes stolen. The estimated value of each e-bike exceeds $950.
Investigators linked Nazarchuk to the thefts with recorded video evidence. When
Nazarchuk was arrested, he was wearing the same distinctive shoes and
clothing, as the suspect recorded on video.
“The first victim whose e-bike had unique characteristics discovered it for sale
on Facebook Marketplace,” according to the sheriff’s office. “The second victim
provided video of the theft, showing the suspect wearing distinctive shoes, T-
shirt, and shorts.”
Marin investigators obtained a warrant to search Nazarchuk’s residence in North
Highland, where he was arrested. He was booked on suspicion of grand theft.
The two stolen e-bikes were recovered and returned to their owners.
Nazarchuk remains in custody at Marin County Jail, and subject to multiple
warrants from Sacramento County. His warrants pertain to battery, disobeying a
court order, giving false information to police, and possession of a controlled
substance.
Public booking records indicate Nazarchuk has a history of arrests in Placer,
Sacramento and Yolo counties. He has been arrested 18 times since May 2017
for offenses involving drugs, grand theft, identity theft, and firearm possession.
