Marin Detectives Arrest Two Brothers in Undercover Sting Operation

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Two brothers suspected of drug trafficking were arrested on
September 24. Detectives also recovered about 300 MDMA (ecstasy) pills and a
loaded handgun. Both suspects were busted in an undercover sting operation
conducted by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.

Ernesto Angulo, 29, and Julian Angulo, 19, both of San Francisco, drove to a
designated location in Marin County. The younger brother had allegedly
arranged to meet an undercover detective to complete a drug sale.
Julian Angulo allegedly sold LSD and ketamine to an undercover detective on
multiple prior occasions. He also allegedly conspired to arrange to sell a large
quantity of ecstasy pills to the detective.

Deputies arrested Angulo when he arrived at the meeting location, along with
his 29-year-old brother who drove them there. When their vehicle was searched,
detectives recovered the ecstasy pills, and found the handgun under an empty
child’s car seat.

Both brothers were booked on drug trafficking-related charges for –
· Possession of a controlled substance for sale
· Transportation/sale of a controlled substance
· Criminal conspiracy

Plus, Ernesto Angulo was booked for possession of a controlled substance
while armed, and carrying a concealed weapon inside a vehicle.
The investigation resulting in the arrests of the Angulo brothers lasted for
several weeks. It was conducted by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office
Specialized Investigative Unit.
