Palo Cedro Park Incident: Suspect Arrested on Attempted Murder and Hit-and-run Allegations
SHASTA COUNTY, CA — “On Sunday, September 27, 2026, at approximately 1:56 PM, Shasta County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Palo Cedro Park on Cedro Lane following multiple reports that an adult male had been intentionally struck by a vehicle at a high rate of speed. The suspect, identified by witnesses as Dustin Alan Mingarelli, fled the area in his vehicle prior to deputies’ arrival.
The victim, who had sustained substantial injuries, was transported to a local hospital for treatment and remains hospitalized.
Deputies put out a Be On the Look Out (BOLO) for Mingarelli to neighboring agencies, and an arrest warrant was secured for his arrest on charges of 664/187 PC, Attempted Murder, and 20001 CVC, Hit and Run.
This morning, Monday, September 28, 2026, Mingarelli was located and arrested with assistance from the Napa County Sheriff’s Office and the Napa Police Department in the City of Napa.
Mingarelli was booked into the Napa County Jail pending extradition to Shasta County. A bail enhancement was requested and No Bail was granted.
