Fresno Police Arrest Two People, Seize Three Handguns After Reports of Gunshots
FRESNO, CA — “On September 20, 2026, at approximately 02:24 am, Fresno Police Officers assigned to the Southwest Policing District responded to the area of Fruit Avenue and California Avenue for several ShotSpotter activations. Based on the activation locations, it appeared the shooter(s) were moving. Officers arrived on scene and located several spent casings. While investigating, officers heard more gunshots and received a call from a reporting party who reported hearing shots fired and observed a white sedan that was believed to be involved with the shots fired. Officers searched the area, located a vehicle matching the description of the white sedan, and made a stop to detain the occupants. Officers noticed spent casings inside the vehicle as they approached it. The occupants of the vehicle were removed from the vehicle. Officers located a total of three handguns, one of them being in he waistband of one of the passengers. All three occupants were arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail for firearm-related charges.”
