Two “Known Gang Members” Members Arrested in Separate Incidents

SANTA MARIA, CA —  August 30, 2026 — In two separate incidents in August, two “known gang members” were arrested in Santa Maria with weapons.

The first encounter began just before midnight, when Gang Suppression Team
detectives, patrolling the area in response to recent gang activity, spotted several males
drinking alcohol in an alley.

According to SMPD spokesman Lt. Jason Zickuhr several members of the group ran
when they noticed the detectives, prompting officers to pursue them. Police eventually
contacted multiple individuals as part of the investigation.

Santa Maria resident Luis Alejandro Garcia-Martinez, 18, was taken into custody on
suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and resisting,
delaying or obstructing a peace officer.

The following evening, at approximately 5:09 p.m., gang suppression detectives
observed a suspicious vehicle and conducted a traffic enforcement stop. After contact with the driver, 19-year-old Malachi Roslinda-Jordan, detectives discovered a Glock
17 handgun hidden between the driver’s seat and center console equipped with a loaded
31-round extended magazine containing 9 mm ammunition

Garcia-Martinez and Roslinda-Jordan were both arrested and transported to Santa
Barbara County North Branch Jail where they were booked on multiple firearms and
obstruction charges. Both gang members remain in custody on no-bail holds.
