NAPA, CA – Officers with the Napa Police Department’s graveyard patrol team investigated a report of threats involving a firearm. Authorities determined that Melvin Pedroza Bardales allegedly pointed a firearm at juvenile victims and made threats to harm them. Pedroza Bardales was subsequently arrested, though police noted he had passed the firearm to an associate prior to being taken into custody.
The Napa Police Department Special Enforcement Unit continued the investigation and identified German Lopez-Gallegos as the individual believed to be in possession of the weapon.
On Friday, August 14, 2026, the Special Enforcement Unit served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Second Avenue in Napa County. During the search, officers located a privately manufactured firearm, commonly referred to as a “ghost gun,” concealed inside a barn among livestock.
Lopez-Gallegos was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections. Department representatives stated that patrol officers and detectives remain committed to reducing firearm-related incidents in the community.
