Burglary Suspect Arrested Following Multi-Agency Investigation in Amador and Sacramento Counties
AMADOR COUNTY, CA — On August 1, 2026, deputies with the Amador County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary on Buena Vista Road in Jackson Valley. Investigators determined that thousands of dollars in tools had been stolen from the location, and the suspect had also attempted to steal a motorcycle.
During the investigation, deputies identified a suspect and broadcast a request to surrounding law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the individual and his vehicle. A search of the Flock license plate reader system subsequently located the suspect vehicle pulling into a Home Depot in Elk Grove.
Elk Grove Police Department officers located and detained the suspect shortly after. Law enforcement officers obtained a search warrant for both the suspect’s vehicle and his residence.
Amador County deputies responded to Elk Grove and recovered multiple stolen items from inside the suspect’s vehicle. Simultaneously, additional deputies executed the search warrant at the suspect’s residence in Jackson Valley. At the home, deputies recovered additional stolen property and discovered evidence indicating the suspect was engaged in switching vehicle identification numbers (VIN).
The suspect was arrested, transported back to Amador County, and booked into jail on charges of burglary, grand theft, vehicle theft, and VIN switching.
