Suspect Arrested Following Multi-County High-Speed Pursuit near Ione
IONE, CA — On June 18, 2026, at approximately 5:20 PM, a deputy patrolling Coal Mine Road near Ione attempted to initiate a traffic enforcement stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and instead accelerated away from the deputy, leading to a high speed pursuit. The pursuit ultimately reached speeds near 100 MPH and crossed into Calaveras County.
The pursuit concluded when the driver lost control of the vehicle, crashed through a fence, and fled on foot into a wooded area. Personnel from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) – San Andreas responded to the scene, established a perimeter, and conducted a search for the driver.
The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Ariana Gurion of West Point. Following a short search, Gurion was located and taken into custody without incident. Gurion was booked into the Amador County Jail on charges of felony evading, resisting arrest, possession of fentanyl, and multiple felony warrants related to weapons possession and drug sales. Public records indicate that Ms Gurion has a significant history of of interactions with local law enforcement, including numerous drug related arrests in recent years.
