CHICO, CA — “On August 5, 2026, at approximately 12:07 p.m., a Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputy conducted a traffic stop on a bicyclist in the area of Park Avenue and East 19th Street in Chico after observing the bicycle traveling the wrong way on the road.
The bicyclist was identified as Kyle Campbell, age 44 of San Carlos. A records check showed Campbell had a confirmed felony warrant for his arrest.
During a search incident to arrest, the deputy located narcotics on Campbell’s person, including two bags containing approximately 35 grams of methamphetamine, seven grams of heroin, and approximately 4.86 grams of fentanyl, which had been separated into four plastic bags.
Campbell was transported to the Butte County Jail and booked on the felony warrant. Additionally, due to the enhanced penalties under Proposition 36 for individuals with two or more prior drug-related convictions, three felony drug charges were added to the booking.”
