Man Arrested Following Stabbing Incident and Standoff in Red Bluff
RED BLUFF, CA — “On Wednesday July 29, 2026, at about 10:54 PM, Red Bluff Police Officers were dispatched to a mobile home complex at 130 Gilmore Rd for a reported stabbing. On scene, a 74-year-old male, was located. The victim suffered puncture wounds. Immediate medical aid was rendered to the victim. The suspect was identified as Paul Pulido. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
While officers were still on scene, the suspect Paul Pulido was observed at a business on the 60 block of Antelope Blvd brandishing a slashing weapon. Pulido was non-compliant and additional law enforcement personnel from the Red Bluff Police Department, Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, and U.S. Forest Service arrived on scene.
Despite the additional law enforcement personnel’s arrival on scene, Pulido remained non-complaint and remained armed with the slashing weapon. Despite de-escalation tactics and multiple attempts for voluntary compliance, Pulido refused to comply or disarm. To preserve public safety, officer safety, and Pulido’s safety a less lethal shotgun projectile was deployed, which caused Pulido to drop the weapon.
Pulido was taken into custody and medically cleared for custody at the Tehama County Jail. Pulido is currently being held on $500,000.00 bail. The victim was transferred to an area hospital. The victim was listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
