MODESTO, CA — During a graveyard shift patrol on Interstate 5, officers with the California Highway Patrol’s Modesto Area (CHP) office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an observed traffic violation in Stanislaus County.

During the course of the stop, officers conducted an inspection of the vehicle and its contents. The search yielded approximately 10 pounds of processed cannabis, multiple jars containing hash oil, and $11,000 in U.S. currency. Additionally, law enforcement personnel located empty containers and labeling materials commonly associated with the packaging and commercial distribution of controlled substances.

The driver was taken into custody at the scene without reported incident. Officers booked the individual into the county jail on suspicion of multiple violations of the California Health and Safety Code, including possession of cannabis for sale and transportation of cannabis for commercial purposes. The seized narcotics, cash, and packaging materials were entered into evidence as the case was referred to the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office for formal charge filing.
