Sonoma County Detectives Seize 35 Kilos of Methamphetamine; Two Arrested
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — “On July 21, 2026, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit executed five search warrants related to an ongoing investigation regarding the distribution of methamphetamine in Sonoma County. In April 2026, Narcotics Detectives began investigating Bernabe Calderon-Nunez, 49, and Jonathan Perez Santos, 18, of Redwood Valley for the trafficking and sales of narcotics in Sonoma County.
During the execution of search warrants, in Mendocino County, detectives deployed K-9 Duke, a narcotics-detection canine, who located 70 pounds of suspected methamphetamine (an estimated value of $1.5 million), 17 grams of cocaine, nearly $100,000 in cash, and evidence related to narcotics sales and narcotics trafficking operations.
Detectives arrested Calderon-Nunez, for possession of a controlled substance for sale and sale of narcotics. Calderon-Nunez was being held on $200,000 bail after the detectives obtained a bail enhancement. He has since been released from custody.
Perez Santos was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility. Perez Santos was later released on zero bail.
