Joint Narcotics Investigation in Olivehurst Results in Federal Arrest and Heroin Seizure
OLIVEHURST, CA — A months-long joint narcotics investigation conducted by the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration resulted in a federal arrest and the seizure of approximately one-half kilogram of heroin intended for distribution in Yuba County.
On July 16, 2026, law enforcement agencies concluded their investigation into Jose Alvarez, an Olivehurst resident in his 70s. According to records from the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, Alvarez has been arrested by the department on multiple occasions since 2016 on charges related to the sale of heroin.
Officers executed a coordinated enforcement operation at Alvarez’s residence, located in the 4200 block of Olivehurst Avenue in Olivehurst. During the search, investigators seized approximately one-half kilogram of heroin from Alvarez. Alvarez was taken into custody pursuant to a federal arrest warrant and subsequently booked into the Sacramento County Jail.
The operation also led to the arrests of two alleged co-conspirators associated with the drug operation: Pamela Kelley, an Olivehurst resident in her late 50s, and Santiago Gomez, 45, of Stockton. Both individuals were arrested on state drug-related charges and booked into the Yuba County Jail.
