Man with Warrants Located, Arrested for Alleged Possession of Fentanyl, Semi-automatic Gun

MARYSVILLE, CA — “Just after 4 p.m. yesterday, our Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Team – assisted by patrol deputies and Marysville Police Department – arrested 33-year-old Deshawn Mims at the Budget Inn in Marysville. Information gathered earlier in the day suggested that Mims held several active arrest warrants from numerous area agencies and he was recently seen near the Budget Inn.
Upon his arrest, investigators found Mims in possession of a semi-automatic handgun, over 6 grams of fentanyl, and more than one pound of methamphetamine. Mims was booked into the Yuba County Jail on several weapons and drug-related charges.
The POP Team continues to operate proactively within Yuba County to identify and disrupt patterns of criminal behavior. Utilizing intelligence-informed strategies, the team conducts coordinated operations to alleviate crime and enhance public safety.”
