Victor Palazuelos, 21, of Fillmore, a known gang member, has been arrested again – this time for assault with a deadly weapon.

Back in February, an emergency call for service reporting of an assault with knife sent deputies to the scene where they
found an adult male suffering from a stab wound.

The victim was treated at the scene and then transported by ambulance as the Ventura
County Sheriff’s Department Fillmore Division Detective Unit investigated the incident.

According too VCSD spokesman Sgt. Jarrod Foote, detectives spent the following five
months “pursuing every possible lead” to identify the person responsible for the
stabbing.

Palazuelos is known to law enforcement as an active criminal gang member “currently on
probation for a gang-related offense.”

Early on the morning of July 22, Fillmore Station detectives and patrol deputies
arrived at Palazuelos’s residence and summarily conducted a probation search which
provided evidence of his being “the perpetrator of the February 6 stabbing.” He was
taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on a
charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

Palazuelos remains in custody on a no-bail hold.
