Suspect Arrested After Police Discover Deceased Woman near Fallbrook and Maroa
FRESNO, CA — “On Sunday, July 19, 2026, officers with the Northwest Policing District responded to the area of Fallbrook and Maroa regarding the report of a deceased person near the location. When officers arrived, they located 52-year-old Jennifer ‘Michelle’ Jones of Fresno in the immediate area near a dumpster. EMS arrived and pronounced her deceased at the scene.
Homicide Detectives responded and initiated an investigation and determined Jones was a victim of homicide. On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, detectives arrested 58-year-old Michael Koontz of Fresno. Koontz was an associate of the victim. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail for the charge of murder.
