DUTCH FLAT, CA — “A months-long investigation into a series of fuel thefts at a gas station in the Dutch Flat area (Placer County) has led to the arrest of two suspects.
Detectives determined the thefts began in February and occurred at least 12 times, with more than $34,000 worth of fuel stolen. Throughout the investigation, detectives identified trucks being used during the thefts.
On Friday, July 10, deputies responded after receiving a report of another possible fuel theft in progress. Once on scene, Placer County Sheriff’s deputies found one of the vehicles suspected of being involved, but no one was inside. It was quickly determined the suspects had already fled in a second vehicle. Deputies were able to identify the vehicle, it was located down the hill in the Roseville area near I-80 and Cirby Way.
A traffic stop was conducted. Deputies found large fuel containers in the beds of the trucks, and both suspects were arrested for theft.
Arrested were Oscar Yordi-Rodriguez, 34, of Las Vegas, Nevada and Luis Abreu, 31, of Miami, Florida
