Oregon Murder Suspect Apprehended by Task Force in Loma Linda

LOMA LINDA, CA — On Thursday, July 2, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., investigators with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Specialized Enforcement Division apprehended Rodney Rogers, a 26-year-old transient of Loma Linda and Redlands, in the 25000 block of Barton Road in Loma Linda.

The arrest stems from a late 2024 homicide investigation conducted by the Portland Police Bureau in Oregon, where a victim was fatally shot. Portland detectives identified Rogers as the suspect in the shooting and obtained an arrest warrant for murder. Following the incident, investigators determined that Rogers had left Oregon and traveled to the San Bernardino County region.

The United States Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force subsequently contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Specialized Enforcement Division, whose members also act as Deputy U.S. Marshals for the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, to request assistance in locating Rogers.

Through investigative methods, personnel established that Rogers was in the city of Loma Linda. On July 2, 2026, investigators tracked Rogers to a business plaza on Barton Road, where he was taken into custody without incident. Rogers was subsequently transported and booked into the Central Detention Center, where he remains held pending his extradition back to Oregon.
