Desert Hot Springs Police Arrest Suspect on Weapons and Narcotics Charges

suspect in custody - courtesy of desert hot springs police departmentDESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — A traffic stop by officers with the Desert Hot Springs PD on July 6, 2026, resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of weapons and narcotics.

According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, officers initially conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and noted what appeared to be fresh bullet holes on its exterior side. During the subsequent investigation, a victim identified the suspected shooter as Dylan Munro of Desert Hot Springs. The victim also provided officers with a description of the vehicle Munro was operating.

Law enforcement personnel subsequently located the described vehicle and took Munro into custody without incident. Following the arrest, detectives obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. The search resulted in the recovery of two firearms, brass knuckles, and approximately 87.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Munro was transported to the Riverside County Jail, where he was booked on multiple felony charges. He is currently being held on a $750,000 bail.
