THOUSAND OAKS, CA — June 22, 2026 — A Ventura homeless man reportedly walked into an office building with a loaded firearm.
On the afternoon of June 17, when The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department
Thousand Oaks station received a report that man had walked into a Thousand Oaks
office building wearing a black leather shoulder holster that held a handgun, the law
enforcement response ended with the arrest of Tyler Robb, 33.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Cmdr. Jeremy Paris,
when Rob – apparently armed- was spotted in the building, “several people called
dispatchers” to report the fact that he had “entered an elevator and traveled to an
unknown floor.”
VCSD Thousand Oaks patrol deputies responded quickly and secured the building,
closing it to the public while deputies searched for their suspect.
Deputies later found Robb near The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks. A search of Robb
and his vehicle turned up “a loaded semi-automatic handgun, several loaded magazines
and narcotic paraphernalia.”
Robb was taken into custody without incident and transported to Ventura County Jail,
where he was booked on charges of carrying a loaded firearm in public, driving under
the influence of a controlled substance, and being under the influence of a controlled
substance while in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Robb remains in custody with his bail set at set at $150,000.
