Man Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Abduct, Sexually Assault Two People in Sunnyvale

SUNNYVALE, CA — “On June 7, 2026, at approximately 1:20 a.m., officers were in the area of Evelyn Avenue and Sunnyvale Avenue when they heard individuals yelling for assistance in breaking up a fight.

An investigation revealed that the suspect had parked his vehicle along the south curb of Evelyn Avenue and approached two female victims, falsely identifying himself as their Uber driver. The victims immediately recognized that he was not their driver. The suspect then attempted to pull one of the women toward his vehicle. When a second female intervened, the suspect grabbed her as well.

During the investigation, officers questioned the suspect about his intentions. The suspect stated that he was attempting to take the women home and further admitted, ‘I want to rape those girls.’

As officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, he became uncooperative and attempted to flee while handcuffed. Officers quickly apprehended him without further incident.

The suspect was arrested for attempted kidnapping, assault with intent to commit rape, and resisting arrest. He was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.”
