Documented Gang Member Reportedly Caught with Stolen Gun & Meth During Traffic Stop in Madera
MADERA, CA — May 28th 2026 — “Yesterday, Officer Collins conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of W 6th Street and contacted Sergio Montes. During the investigation, Sergio was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm and methamphetamine. Sergio is currently on probation for similar offenses and is also a documented gang member. He was booked into the Madera County Jail on multiple weapon and drug-related charges.
Thanks to Officer Collins’ alertness and dedication, a stolen firearm and illegal narcotics were taken off the streets before they could cause further harm. The Madera Police Department will continue working every day to protect our neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life in our community.”
