“Last night Officer Eichman located a stolen U-Haul truck parked behind Downtown buffet. When Officer Eichman parked, the driver Josh Giraud ran from the truck.

Officer Eichman captured Josh a short distance away after a brief struggle. A female passenger, Victoria Gavon was also removed from the stolen truck.

Officers noticed several power tools and welding equipment in the back of the truck that appeared to have been stolen from Barnes Welding Supply.

Officers also noticed damage to the back of the stolen truck. Officers responded to Barnes Welding supply on Pine St and found a burglary had occurred.

The back of the stolen truck was used to force open the large metal rolling garage door, allowing entry into the business, where the items found in the back of the truck were taken.

Both Josh and Victoria were booked into the Madera County Jail on several charges. In the cold winter months, especially during low visibility nights, commercial burglaries increase. If you see something suspicious, please give us a call.”
