Fresno Man Arrested on Murder Allegations After Woman’s Body Found in Canal
FRESNO, CA — “On Sunday, May 10, 2026, at approximately 11:42 p.m., officers from the Southwest Policing District were dispatched to the canal bank near Nielson Avenue and Hughes Avenue regarding a report of a female in the water.
Upon arrival, officers located a Good Samaritan attempting to pull the woman from the canal. With the assistance of officers, the woman, identified as Georgiana McGhee, was removed from the water. Despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, following an autopsy, Homicide Detectives were notified that her death had been ruled a homicide.
During the course of their investigation, detectives identified 48‑year‑old Boshay Ware as the suspect responsible for McGhee’s murder. Ware has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of murder and torture.
Detectives have determined that a reported missing person, identified as 55-year-old Jerome Saldivar of Fresno, was also assaulted by the suspect and his whereabouts are unknown.
