On the morning of May 21, Ventura County Sherriff’s Department deputies attached to
the Fillmore Patrol Station responded to a citizen’s report of a suspicious vehicle in the
caller’s neighborhood.
Deputies were sent to investigate, and according to VCSD spokesman Sgt. Jarrod Foote,
they contacted Daniel Robles, 37, of Fillmore, “as he was getting out of the vehicle.”
During their contact with Robles, “deputies developed probable cause” to search Robles
and the vehicle.
That search turned up a loaded, unregistered firearm and controlled substances, all
suspected to be within his control and possession.
Robles was promptly taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where
he was booked on multiple felony weapons and drug-related allegations, including
possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm, unlawful firearm
transfer, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, being under the influence
of a controlled substance while possessing a firearm, being a prohibited person in
possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and possession of
a controlled substance.
Due to his probationary status, Robles remains in custody on a no-bail hold.
