San Miguel Woman Arrested Following Shooting Incident on White Road in Parkfield
PARKFIELD, CA – Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a San Miguel resident on Thursday, May 21, 2026, following a reported shooting at a property in the 84000 block of White Road.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 11:00 a.m. and contacted the victim, who stated that 45-year-old Elena Juarez had discharged multiple rounds toward him while he was seated inside his vehicle. Law enforcement personnel detained Juarez at the location and recovered a Ruger .357 caliber revolver.
According to investigators, a witness reported seeing Juarez point the firearm toward the vehicle and fire from a distance of approximately 250 yards. The investigation indicated that multiple rounds were discharged in the direction of the victim as he attempted to drive away from the property. The victim reported that further shots were fired as he left the area, and he noted that one round appeared to strike a nearby tree, sending bark and debris against his vehicle.
Based on statements, witness testimony, and physical evidence recovered at the scene, Juarez was placed under arrest and booked into the Monterey County Jail. She faces multiple felony charges, including:
PC 245(a)(2) – Assault with a Firearm on a Person
PC 246 – Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling or Vehicle
PC 417(a)(2) – Brandishing a Firearm
Bail for Juarez has been set at $155,000. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office requests that anyone with additional information contact their department.
