San Rafael High School Teacher Arrested After Allegedly Arranging for Sex with a Student

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Detectives arrested a drama teacher for allegedly arranging for sex with a
San Rafael High School student. Kevin E. Allen, 35, of San Rafael, was booked into Marin
County Jail on May 20.
Allen who served as school theater director was apprehended his Glenwood neighborhood
residence at 6:41 a.m. He remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bond on open charges. Allen
was booked on suspicion of arranging to meet a minor for sex, and annoying or molesting a
child.
The school first conducted its own internal investigation. San Rafael police were subsequently
notified about a possible illegal relationship involving a teacher and a student.
Allen is suspended from his role as after-school theater director and substitute teacher. A
2009 graduate of the same high school, Allen is now barred from entering the high school
campus.
Police obtained formal statements from the victim and witnesses. Search warrants were
executed to obtain electronic communications between Allen and the student. Investigators
believe this establishes definitive evidence that an illegal relationship occurred between the
teacher and student.
Moreover, Allen is charged with a probation violation, although the details have not been
made public. However, records indicate that he was previously arrested for DUI alcohol/drugs
in August 2025.
