Two Suspects Arrested in Connection with September 2025 Santa Ana Stabbing
SANTA ANA, CA – Santa Ana Police Department homicide detectives arrested two men on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in connection with a stabbing that occurred in September 2025, leaving two individuals hospitalized and a third with minor injuries.
The original incident occurred on September 6, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m. Officers responded to reports of a stabbing on the 600 block of West Washington Avenue, where they located two adult male victims suffering from stab wounds. Both individuals were transported to a regional hospital for medical treatment, while a third individual was treated for minor injuries sustained during the physical altercation.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the victims were involved in a confrontation with a group of individuals. During the dispute, two of the victims were stabbed before the suspects fled the area.
Following a detailed follow-up investigation, homicide detectives identified two suspects as 20-year-old Elvis Camacho Calleja of Diamond Bar and 20-year-old Jonathan De Leon of Santa Ana. Both men were located and arrested by detectives without incident.
Camacho Calleja was booked into custody on charges of two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, and gang enhancements. De Leon was booked on charges of two counts of attempted murder, conspiracy, and gang enhancements.
