SANTA ANA, CA – Santa Ana Police Department homicide detectives arrested two suspects on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in connection with the fatal shooting of a 58-year-old man in April.
The incident occurred on Monday, April 27, 2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of North Daisy Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, emergency personnel located the victim, identified as John Albert Guillen, suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority performed life-saving measures, but Guillen was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A subsequent investigation conducted by homicide detectives identified the suspects as 19-year-old Daniel Izaih Torres and 20-year-old Alicia Rebecca Marin. Detectives located and took both individuals into custody within Santa Ana.
According to police findings, the suspects confronted Guillen as he was entering his vehicle due to an ongoing gang rivalry. The victim was shot twice before the suspects fled the location. Both Torres and Marin were booked into the Santa Ana Jail on charges of murder with gang enhancements.
