NORTH RICHMOND, CA— A coordinated operation between U.S. Marshals and Contra Costa County
Sheriff’s Office culminated in the April 22 arrest of a North Richmond-based rapper.
Luis Rincon, 30, whose stage name is “Weez Gotti” remains in custody on a federal-hold at the Martinez Detention
Facility.
Rincon was arrested on a federal warrant pertaining to federal firearms and narcotics violations.
Sheriff’s deputies established perimeter security, while U.S. Marshals made the arrest. Firearms and
illicit drugs were recovered when Rincon’s home was searched.
He reportedly attempted to flee through a window, following a brief standoff, before being arrested
without further incident. The sheriff’s office handled his booking into county jail, pending his transfer to
federal custody.
Rincon has been the subject of multi-agency investigations involving firearms, controlled substances,
and unrelated break-ins of vehicles. He is allegedly involved in the distribution of untraceable “ghost
guns” manufactured without required serial numbers.
Federal agents recovered “multiple handguns and a significant quantity of suspected fentanyl and
promethazine,” according to prepared statement from the U.S. Marshals Service.
A federal criminal complaint implicating Rincon remains partially sealed. However, it confirms charges
including felon in possession of a firearm, and possession illicit drugs with intent to distribute,
according to the The Mercury News.
Rincon has a criminal history, which includes a 2021 conviction in Alameda County for possession of a
concealed firearm in vehicle. Since 2015, Rincon has been arrested 23 times for burglaries, robberies,
grand theft, and gang street terrorism, among other offenses.
