RICHMOND, CA — A San Francisco-resident rapper  “TearItOffGreezy” was arrested April 14 for a
murder five years ago in Richmond. The suspect identified as Reno G. Fiapoto, 26, remains in custody
on a no-bail hold.

A joint task force apprehended Fiapoto in San Francisco at 6:37 a.m. SFPD officers
detained Fiapoto on a Ramey Warrant. Fiapoto was turned over to Richmond detectives, who
transported him to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Fiapoto is described as an active member of a criminal street gang in San Francisco, based in the
Western Addition neighborhood. The fatal shooting which happened on March 16, 2021, is believed
gang-related.

The victim 21-year-old Derrick McDougal suffered multiple gunshot wounds at a Chevron gas station,
2141 Barrett Avenue in Richmond. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fiapoto faces charges for murder, and murder committed for criminal street gang purpose. He is also
charged with criminal street gang conspiracy, and personal intentional discharge of a firearm. He is
scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on April 27.

His arrest highlights culmination of a cold-case murder investigation organized by the Contra Costa
County Major Crimes Task Force. Participants include the FBI Safe Streets and Gang Unit, Richmond
police, and San Francisco police.

Digital evidence was key to identifying Fiapoto as the suspect in this cold case homicide. Investigators
matched ballistics evidence, analyzed DNA collected from the original crime scene, and analyzed data
from automated license plate readers.

Fiapoto has a history of gang-related violence and arrests, including prior arrests for burglary, robbery,
assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and street terrorism.
