San Francisco Police Arrest Man for Attempted Residential Rape and Burglary

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Officers from the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) responded to a residence on the 2100 block of Larkin Street on February 15, 2026, following reports of a person calling for assistance. Upon arrival at approximately 4:14 p.m., officers located an adult female at the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, an unidentified male followed the woman to her home. As she attempted to close her door, the subject forced entry into the residence and attempted a sexual assault. Following a physical struggle, the woman escaped the building to seek help. The SFPD Special Victims Unit (SVU) subsequently assumed control of the investigation.

To identify the suspect, the department circulated a photograph via an internal email to all officers. On February 16, 2026, personnel from the Drug Market Agency Coordination Center (DMACC) Enforcement Team located the individual at a residence on the 900 block of Geary Street. With assistance from plainclothes officers and the Fugitive Recovery Enforcement Team (FRET), 34-year-old Daquane Hubbard of San Francisco was taken into custody.

Hubbard was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on multiple charges. These include assault with intent to commit a felony, sexual penetration with an object, first-degree burglary, second-degree robbery, attempted rape, false imprisonment, sexual battery, and assault with intent to commit rape.

Chief Derrick Lew commented on the incident, stating that such violence is not tolerated in the city and credited the coordination between multiple police stations for the arrest. While Hubbard is in custody, SFPD case #260-091-152 remains an active investigation. Individuals with information are asked to contact the SFPD tip line or utilize the Text-A-Tip service.
