Suspect Arrested in Connection with Series of Commercial Burglaries Across San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — On April 26, 2026, at approximately 5:08 a.m., San Francisco Police Department officers responded to a report of a burglary at a business located on the 1200 block of 9th Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they observed physical damage to the front door of the establishment. An initial walk-through of the property revealed that the business safe had been opened and rummaged through, and that cash from inside the safe, along with one of the cash registers, had been taken.
The SFPD Burglary Unit took over the investigation and subsequently identified 40 year old, San Francisco resident, Maria Campbell as the suspect, obtaining an arrest warrant based on probable cause. Investigators also linked Campbell to multiple other burglaries that occurred across San Francisco. On June 12, 2026, members of the Citywide Plainclothes Team located and arrested Campbell on the 100 block of Jones Street.
Campbell was transported to the San Francisco County Jail, where she was booked on the outstanding burglary warrant and for possession of drug paraphernalia under Health and Safety Code section 11364(a). Burglary sergeants later connected Campbell to six additional burglary incidents, adding charges that included multiple counts of second-degree burglary under Penal Code section 459 and another count of possession of drug paraphernalia. These additional incidents took place at businesses located on the 1500 block of Taraval Street, the 1700 block of 19th Avenue, the 1200 block of 9th Avenue, the 2800 block of Diamond Street, the 3100 block of Mission Street, and the 1400 block of 18th Street.
