Napa Police and Sheriff’s Deputies Apprehend Stabbing Suspect Following High-Speed Chase
NAPA, CA — On February 26, 2026, at approximately 3:53 PM, officers from the Napa Police Department responded to a reported stabbing in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue. Upon arrival, law enforcement located an adult female victim with a severe wound to her forearm. Officers provided immediate medical aid and applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding before the victim was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
Witnesses and the victim provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was broadcast to law enforcement agencies throughout Napa County. At approximately 3:58 PM, a Napa County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle traveling eastbound on Monticello Road near Bell Lane. The driver, later identified as 22 year old Saul Eusebio of Pope Valley, did not stop for the deputy and initiated a high-speed pursuit. The pursuit lasted approximately two miles before the vehicle crashed on the south side of Monticello Road. No other motorists were involved in the collision.
Following the crash, the suspect fled on foot into a steep hillside characterized by dense brush. Officers from the Napa Police Department and deputies from the Napa County Sheriff’s Office established a perimeter and conducted an extensive search utilizing drone and K-9 units. At approximately 7:20 PM, Eusebio was located hiding in the brush near Monticello Road and was taken into custody without further incident.
The Napa Police Department acknowledged that the operation and the established perimeter resulted in traffic delays along Monticello Road. The department expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by the Napa County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol during the ground and aerial search.
