K9 Gibbs Sniffs Out Narcotics and Illegal Firearm During I-5 Traffic Stop Near Cottonwood Scales

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I‑5 near the Cottonwood scales for a vehicle code violation. During the investigation, K9 Gibbs was deployed for a free‑air sniff — and let’s just say his nose did not clock out early.
A search of the vehicle revealed:
Approximately 1 pound of suspected methamphetamine
Approximately 4.7 oz of suspected cocaine
$1,800 in cash
A firearm and a magazine with live ammunition
The driver was arrested on drug trafficking–related charges.
