Multi-Agency Operation Targets Stolen Vehicle Ring at Calexico Port of Entry
EL CENTRO, CA — “Last night, a coordinated multi-agency operation was conducted involving the El Centro Police Department Patrol Division and Investigations Bureau, Calexico Police Department Patrol and Investigations Bureau, Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Patrol, FBI, and CBP.
The operation focused on stolen vehicles originating from the Los Angeles area that were being transported across the border through the Calexico Port of Entry.
During the operation, Imperial County Sheriff’s Deputies successfully located and detained the driver of a scout vehicle associated with the thefts.
Shortly after, El Centro Police Department officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a stolen Chevrolet Silverado. The driver failed to yield, leading to a vehicle pursuit. Spike strips were successfully deployed, slowing the vehicle as the pursuit continued into the City of Calexico.”
